The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is set conduct the IBPS Clerk Exam 2017-18 at two levels; Preliminary and Main. The prelim exam will be conducted in the first week of December 2017 i.e. 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th and the Main on January 21, 2018. The IBPS conducts these exams every year to recruit the capable candidates for clerical posts in the banks (Participating Organizations) that participate in this recruitment program. Those students who score minimum qualifying marks in the prelim become eligible for the Main exam. Participating Organizations include Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Andhra Bank, Central Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Union Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Corporation Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India, Bank of India, Dena Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Vijaya Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank and Syndicate Bank.

Candidates who will qualify in Preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination. Depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2018-19 based on the business needs of the Participating Organizations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organizations keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc. The validity for CWE Clerks-VII will automatically expire at the close of business on 31.03.2019 with or without giving any notice.

Following is the step-by-step procedure of applying online.

  • Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS’s website www.ibps.in and click on the Home Page to open the link “CWE Clerks” and then click on the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- Clerks (CWE-Clerks-VII)” to open the On-Line Application Form.
  • Candidates will have to click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” to register their application by entering their basic information in the online application form. After that a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars, if needed.
  • Candidates are required to upload their photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm) and signature. (more)

IGNOU: Hall Tickets for B.Ed Released @ IGNOU – The People’s University

Those candidates who are preparing for the same can access the ACs or hall tickets from the official website.

How to download the hall tickets: Candidates need to go to the official website ignou.http://ac.in and search for the link titled ‘Hall Tickets and Attendance Sheet for B.Ed and BSCN Entrance Examination 2018’ on the homepage. Upon clicking, you will be redirected to the new page giving you options for the admit card. You will have to click on the same and provide your name or 9-digit enrolment number followed by hitting the Submit button. Download and print out your hall ticket. Keep in mind that without the Hall ticket, you won’t be allowed to take the exam. So far selection process is concerned; it will be totally based on the merit list and proper verification of the official documents related to eligibility.

For those preparing for Common Admission Test (CAT) need to know that the CAT 2017 will be organized by the IIM –L. The IIMs will organize the computer-based exam 140 test centres across the country in two sessions. The duration of the Exam will be 180 minutes. The CAT entrance examination is conducted for admission to these 20 IIMs and more than 100 institutes across India. The elite IIMs are at Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Calcutta, Indore, Jammu, Kashipur, Koz hikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur and Visakhapatnam. The IIMs will also release a tutorial to understand the format of the test on October 18. Candidates must work on the tutorials available on the website well in advance.

Exam Pattern: There will be three sections; Verbal Reasoning & Reading Comprehension (one), Quantitative Aptitude (two) and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (three). The first section will have 34 questions with 1 mark for each question. The second section will follow the same and the third section will have 32 questions with 1 mark for each. The Exam is for 100 marks and the duration is 60 minutes. Don’t be alarmed or tensed with this. The exam will go through two sessions. Two different test forms shall be given in two test sessions. The scores shall be based on the process of Normalization that will adjust for location and scale differences of score distributions across different forms. IIT Kharagpur bags 200-plus pre-placement offers in top MNCs

The placement season will begin on December 1, later this year

IIT Kharagpur students have bagged over 200 pre-placement offers for the first time in top multi-national corporations, including some based abroad.

Companies like Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Adobe Systems and Wipro have offered more than ten PPOs each, the institute said in a release on Wednesday.

The placement season will begin on December 1, later this year.

Offers have been pouring for the final year students as an outcome of internships which the students went for during the summer recess.

“This is an encouraging sign for us that companies recognise our students’ hard work and motivation during the internship,” said Debasis Deb, Professor in-charge of the Career Development Centre at IIT Kharagpur.

According to him, several factors like versatility, wide choices in course curriculum available through flexible academic programmes, dedicated and experienced faculty strength and a strong presence of the alumni across most of recruiting organisations resulted in the huge number of PPOs.

IIT Kharagpur has also received over 200 internship offers for the pre-final year students for the summer of 2018.

The institute authorities expect to cross the tallies of past years in internship offers for the academic year 2017-18, the release said.

Before applying online, candidates should—

  • Scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm) and signature adhere to the required specifications as given in Annexure III to this Advertisement.
  • Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
  • Keep the necessary details/documents ready to make Online Payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges.
  • Have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the completion of this round of Common Recruitment Process. IBPS may send call letters for the Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share with/mention e-mail ID to / of any other person. UPSC 2017: Indian Forest Service (Main) Exam Begins In December

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to take the Indian Forest Service Main Exam from December 3, 2017 (Sunday) to December 13, 2017 (Wednesday). View the entire time table here. The Indian Forest Service (IFS) is one of the important Civil Services Examinations conducted by Commission. The other two All India Services are Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS). The IFS exam is for the recruitment officers at All India level by the Government of India for the scientific management of its forests. IFS services come under various State cadres and joint cadres though they have the mandate to serve both under the State and Central Governments. The main objective of IFS service is the execution of the National Forest Policy that aims to ensure environmental stability and upkeep of ecological balance. An IFS officer is principally independent of district administration. He has powers to exercise administrative, judicial and financial powers in his own domain. All the top positions in state forest department are held by the IFS officers.

Qualifying in Prelim:

The preliminary Examination which was held on June 18, 2017 (Sunday) had two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carried a maximum of 400 marks in the subjects set out in sub-section (A) of Section II. This examination served as a screening test only; the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination are counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be about twelve to thirteen times the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination. Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination in the year will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination of that year provided they are otherwise eligible for admission, to the Main Examination.

Papers in Main Exam: The Main exam has General English (300 Marks), General Knowledge (300 Marks) and any two subjects from the list of optional subjects. These two subjects will have 2 papers each.
